Battery Discharge Alarm

The Battery Discharge Alarm (BDA) protects sealed and flooded
lead-acid batteries from overdischarge. The BDA supplements or
replaces vehicle battery discharge indicators (BDI), providing
better protection of your batteries against overdischarge. Over-
discharge permanently damages batteries and reduces their life.

The BDA electronically monitors the state of charge. When the
computed volts per cell drops below set limits, an alarm is triggered.

The alarm voltages are set at the factory and are dependent
upon battery manufacturer recommendations. Standard settings are
1.99 volts per cell for sealed batteries and 1.85 volts per cell for
flooded batteries. The user also has the option to specify the factory set alarm voltage.
